We're finally home! We had a terrific day at the zoo, and I'm so glad we went! I took my 5 plus a neighbors little girl, so there were 7 of us in total with me as the only adult. The kids were GREAT, and we had a wonderful day exploring the Houston Zoo. I went ahead and bought the year membership for $79.00 and they gave us a free T-shirt. We now have season passes to the zoo so we can visit again in the summer when the water area is open.
I heard that March is a busy time to go to the zoo and by the time we left at noon, there was a line of cars about 1.5 MILES long to get in - no joke! If you're going to the zoo yourself, go in the morning when they open!
We brought our own drinks and snacks and managed to steer clear of the refreshments and gift shop. I felt $79.00 for a years worth of educational entertainment was worth it, and since the parking was free, drinks were free, and snacks were free, we'll definitely go back!
Great pictures! I hope the zoo was fun and you guys are having a great break. :)
ReplyDelete[How is it compared to the Denver Zoo, did you ever go to the Cheyenne Mountain zoo in the springs? I hear that is really cool zoo.]
Your kids are the right ages for a season pass--good job!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too! I LOVE season passes to anywhere! I really like being able to just up and go somewhere without having to worry about paying to get in.
ReplyDeleteI never went to the Cheyenne Mountain zoo, but I'd have to say the Denver Zoo is better. We used to really enjoy watching the polar bears, hippos, and penguins, and there weren't any at the Houston Zoo. Oh well...
I'm thinking of buying season passes to the museum and the Space Center too!
