I got back from the store awhile ago and was sooo disappointed in my results. I got all I needed to finish my whole list, but I spent $126.00!! This price included 20 pounds of chicken breast, lots of veggies and fruits, 16 packages of Pillsbury products (biscuits, cinn rolls, cookies), freezer bags, waxed paper, tin foil, canned foods, 6 lbs of cheese, and much more.
I'm upset because I just KNOW I could have saved more if I'd have shopped and planned better. The chicken breast was a fantastic price (the best I've seen), but almost everything else would have been much cheaper had I planned better and shopped far ahead. Oh well, better luck next time. At least I'll sleep well tonight knowing that $126.00 will feed my family dinners for a month!
Here's my progress so far today:
3 x lasagna
8 lbs cubed chicken
8 lbs shredded chicken
13 pounds browned ground turkey
3 x taco meat bagged
2 x chili
3 batches biscuits cooked and bagged
2 batches cinnamon rolls cooked and bagged
I still have to make the hamburgers today and marinate the fajita chicken, but I think I'll put the rest on hold until tomorrow - I'm tired!
Here's what I need to do tomorrow:
make chicken noodle soup (I have the chicken cubed and the broth ready, I just need to chop veggies and assemble)
roll chicken enchiladas
bake 4 batches cookies
grill 12 lbs chicken and slice
chop onions
chop bell peppers
