Bathroom Makeover Just $4.24

I've been super-busy trying to get my house cleaned up, spruced up, and de-cluttered in the spirit of spring cleaning.  With 5 kids running around we tend to have LOTS of messes and lots of "stuff", so I've made it my mission to get organized and cleaned up!

I posted the other day about my hallway painting project.  Since the hallways looked so good I decided my kids' bathroom needed a little something too:

The bathroom is relatively small and always seems drab.  I had recently bought new accessories for my master bath so I had my old towels and rugs and no place to put them.  I found a cute shower curtain at Target yesterday on clearance for only $4.24 that I figured would match.  Sooo, I bought the curtain and paired it with a leftover can of paint from another project last year and headed into no-mans paintland yet again.

I spent about 3 hours total this morning doing a surprise bath makeover for my kids:

The pictures don't do this little room justice: the light aqua color really brightens up the room, and I couldn't have found a better rug-towel-curtain match if I'd tried!

All in all I spent just $4.24 on this room makeover by using things I already had (paint, rugs, towels, accessories) and pairing them with something new (and on clearance of course!).

Frugal momma breathes a sigh of relief as another job gets checked off the list...:o)

  1. Another great job Erica! I bet it looks real nice, and the shower curtain looks real cute. What an easy, yet good looking change.
[And what a cool surprise for the kids when they came home, I bet Kevin was proud of you!]

  3. Thank you for your comments! I've been trying to add a little more of "myself" into this site rather than JUST providing sales and deals. I wanted to show how I save money on all sorts of things, and recycling and reusing things in new ways is one of the ways I do it!

Thank you again - I love reader comments! :o)
