I have a confession to make: it takes me about....7 months to paint! I have these really big, tall arches in my house and I started painting around them last JULY. I got the bulk of the painting done downstairs in July, but I put off the remainder of the project until 5 days ago.
I have a whole arsenal of excuses: I didn't feel good, my fingers hurt, I'm too busy, half-painted walls are "in", and so many more. I finally decided it was time to finish what I'd started, so I began my 4 day painting journey.
The arches themselves were painted when we moved in, but there was a big white abyss surrounding them. With five kids, the walls quickly became shades of gray with a mixture of pen and crayon marks. Not designer, but very kid-friendly. I had chosen a gorgeous butter yellow to compliment the arches, so all I needed to do was get to painting.
I, like many other busy moms, can't just sit and paint for hours on end. I have five kids to shuttle to and from school, a Girl Scout troop to run (did I mention it's GS cookie time?), another business to run, and deals and sales to report to you all. Over the last few days every spare moment has been spent immersed in butter cookie by Behr, and I'm happy to report I'm in the home stretch!
Each arch has been carefully taped and painted, walls are now buttery yellow, and the crayon and pen marks are things of the past. All I need to do now is paint BETWEEN each and every little rail you see (and several you don't see!). That should take...another 7 months!
Anyhow, it's back to normal so I'll be posting lots of great deals over the coming days! I haven't done my shopping trips to the stores yet, so I'll be power-shopping and getting the deals out to you!
Great job Erica! I can imagine how much better it looks! We are remodling our upstairs bathroom right now, so I now what your going through. A lot of work but well worth it. Go MOM! :)
