Spring Break Planter Pots

Well, better late than never, right?  I'm finally getting around to posting about our terra cotta planter pots we painted over spring break.  Here's what we started with:

We began by painting a base coat on the pots - most of us used bright white or black, but of course my youngest just had to use orange!  The acrylic paint dries almost instantly, so once they were dry we painted designs on the pots then hot glued some flat glass decorating marbles all over.  Here's what we ended up with:

Starting from the left: my pot is simple white paint and glass marbles along the top, my oldest daughter Caitlin painted the most beautiful flowers over her black background and glued marbles to the center - it turned out sooo gorgeous! Taylor painted some cutie-pie giant stars all over hers and added marbles; Matthew worked on his finger painting skills, and Brendan painted a simple design, glued marbles on, then yanked them right back off!  It looks kinda neat to see the design the marbles left.

I'll try to get a close up of some of these and post them tomorrow.   I'll be sealing them this weekend with a clear acrylic sealer then we'll plant some flower seeds I bought yesterday.  I'm also looking for a cute pot stand for the porch - anyone know where I can get one cheap?
