The Green Haired Monster

I thought I was dreaming this morning when I awoke to tears and green hair.  My middle son, who's 10 in a few days, went to sleep playing with his green silly putty.  He woke up to green hair, a green blanket, and green on his brand new shirt (he sometimes sleeps in a t shirt and jammy bottoms).  Then began the tears - not only because he was upset and thought he'd soon become bald, but because he thought I would be mad.  Now I must admit I don't always keep my cool, but in this particluar situation all I could do was give a hug and start figuring out how to fix this (photo is about half way through the clean up):

All it took was a bottle of hair conditioner (I have TONS of FREE bottles!), a comb, and some patience.  We worked the conditioner through his hair, carefully tugged out the big pieces, then massaged out the rest with the conditioner and warm water.  Viola - a normal boy again:

I'm sharing this story for two reasons:

1. To let you know I'm human and all the coupons in the world can't help when it comes to everyday life with kids.

2. Almost every (free) product has an alternate use!  LOL

  1. How funny, I was just explaining to my oldest kid about sleeping with gum in her mouth and what could happen. Now I have pictures to show her! Crazy kid, and how cute you combed his hair. :)
