Well folks, my baby has turned 16. Where oh where have the years gone? It's so cliche, but I remember the day he was BORN! He was a wrinkled little cone-headed baby boy, but he was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen!
As the oldest of five children, my son Austin has had to endure alot, but boy, has he put us through alot too! We were talking at dinner the other night about all the things my adorable boy used to get into. Among his list of accomplishments:
1. He once cut beautiful "butterflies" out of my curtains
2. He used to be quite the little artist - if you know him, just ask him what he used to paint with
3. My best friend once caught him standing in the toilet
4. He has great "aim"!
5. He is a master storyteller - just ask his sister about the "Grinch"!
Finally, his REAL accomplishments:
1. He's a linebacker for CY Woods High School
2. He broke district track records 2 years in a row
3. He's on the choir council
4. He sang in the Honor Choir last year
5. He's a SUPER athlete!
6. He's sweet
7. He's respectful
8. He's a true gentleman
I love my boy. :o) I am so excited to see how he grows and changes over the next few years - he has mentioned wanting to be a counselor/psychologist, so I can't wait to see what path he chooses.
I picked him up from school early because my sister is flying in from Colorado to be here for his big day. We'll be going to lunch with dad and I'm making his favorite for dinner - homemade hamburgers! I think I see Cold Stone Creamery in our future too...yum!
I'm going to enjoy my time with my children and my family today. I am so thankful I have my family and my beautiful children - they're happy and healthy and that's all I can ask for. As you read this post, just stop for a moment to give God the glory for all you have - family, friends, and LIFE!
God Bless
